23 Things Week 9 - Thing 16

23 Things Week 9 - Thing 15

I've always loved dollhouses and miniatures and I'm currently reading a series of mystery books by Margaret Grace that is all about a sleuth named Geraldine Porter who is a retired English teacher who solves crimes and also works with miniatures -- so I decided to search on Flickr for the keywords miniatures and libraries which led me to this photo of a miniature setting called "Nancy Pearl Library."

23 Things Week 5

I just completed the week 5 exercises. Thanks to Amy for the very helpful guide to downloadable resources.

I decided to try reading an eBook and I noticed on the guide that the "For Dummies" series is available in eBook format. I went to the catalog and did a search on keyword "Dummies" limited to eBooks and got a list of the books available. I decided to access a book about business etiquette so I clicked on the link and the book came right up. It was pretty easy to navigate the book and I really liked the search capability that enables finding all instances of a particular word or phrase.

I did experience a problem when using Internet Explorer (my computer has Windows Vista and IE 8). Whenever I tried to navigate within the book (search for a word or navigate to a particular page), I kept getting the message "This website is using a scripted window to ask you for information. If you trust this website, click here to allow scripted windows." I clicked the box to allow this, but it kept asking me the same question every time I tried to do a new search or navigate to a new page. I switched to Firefox and repeated the process and I didn't have any problems there. Does anyone know if there is something I can do (i.e. a setting I can change, etc.) to correct this problem in Internet Explorer? Thanks in advance for any help.
